“This is my first trip to Israel and I’m part of a generation that didn’t rush here right away,” he said. “It’s not the case everywhere in the world where you can just announce that you’re Jewish. And I would say on some level my parents raised us not to announce that we’re Jewish, but I feel lucky I’ve never had a problem with it, my children don’t have a problem with it, and I’m very proud of my heritage.” He continued, “It’s a pleasure for me as an artist to come here and get recognized.”
