Press Release

Statement from the Creative Community for Peace Literary Alliance

Alyssa Rosenheck’s book, White. Blonde. Jew., was written in response to the growing campaign to marginalize, boycott, and silence Jewish and Israeli voices in the literary world. Her book event was cancelled in Nashville and she’s become the latest victim of that very phenomenon.

Over the past several years, planned bookstore appearances by Jewish authors have been canceled, ads for books about Israel have been rejected, book readings have been shut down, literary organizations have been targeted, and activists have circulated blacklists of so-called “Zionist” authors for harassment.

Just last month, PEN America’s President resigned because the organization simply documented the experiences of Jewish and Israeli writers. This reveals just how difficult it has become for even free expression organizations to acknowledge antisemitism within the literary community.

Alyssa Rosenheck wrote White. Blonde. Jew. to shine a light on this growing intolerance. The decision to cancel her event only proves how necessary her voice—and this conversation—have become.

Eurovision – Open Letter

Amy Schumer, Mila Kunis, Jerry O’Connell, Erin Foster,  Matthew Weiner, Anthony Edwards, and Matisyahu join Liev Schreiber, Helen Mirren, Gene Simmons, Scooter Braun, Boy George, Mayim Bialik, Sharon Osbourne, Debra Messing, Emmy Rossum  and 1,000+ celebrities and entertainment industry professionals who reject attempts to ban Israel from Eurovision.

LOS ANGELES (April 15, 2026) — More than 1,000 leaders from the entertainment industry have signed an open letter by the non-profit entertainment industry organization Creative Community For Peace in support of the continued inclusion of Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest and in support of the contestants.

The initial letter was issued in response to campaigns calling on the European Broadcasting Union to exclude Israel from the event and urging participating countries and artists to withdraw.

At the time, Scooter Braun said, “Music is a place for unity not division. It is a language that should always bring us together. Artists should never be discriminated against for who they are, who they love, or where they’re born. These boycott efforts do nothing but distract from the uplifting and unifying power of music – something we need now more than ever.”

While Gene Simmons said, “Music unites people from all backgrounds. It’s the one language that everyone can understand. It’s a beautiful thing and a great way to bring people together. Those advocating to exclude an Israeli singer from Eurovision don’t move the needle towards peace, but only further divide the world.”

And Mayim Bialik said, “After a horrendous violent attack on Israeli civilians, calls for boycotts and excluding Israeli artists from international events simply because they are Israeli is abhorrent and shameful. Targeting Israeli musicians in this way tarnishes the unifying spirit that is Eurovision.”

The letter highlights Eurovision’s unique ability to unify people from diverse backgrounds and music’s capacity to effect positive change in the world. It states that the annual event, with more viewers than the Super Bowl, is a celebration of unity and should not be used as a tool for politics.

Hundreds more entertainment industry leaders have now added their names.

Jerry O’Connell said, “Music should bring us together. No artist should be silenced for where they are from. These boycott efforts destroy the very connections the arts are meant to build.”

Sharon Osbourne said, “Artists and culture are being dragged into the angry, misinformed politics of the moment. Attempts to exclude Israelis from the international stage twist art into a tool of division and erode the shared humanity that the arts are meant to preserve.  I’ve watched this play out for over three years, and it just breaks my heart.”

The statement delivers a loud message from the entertainment industry unequivocally voicing support for Israel’s inclusion in Eurovision, standing with the contest’s participants, and rejecting calls for a boycott.

Signatories Include: Gene Simmons (Artist – KISS); Helen Mirren (Actor); Liev Schreiber (Actor); Amy Schumer (Actor); Mila Kunis (Actor); Selma Blair (Actor); Julianna Margulies (Actor/Producer/Author); Mayim Bialik (Actor); Ginnifer Goodwin (Actor); Debra Messing (Actor); Boy George (Artist); Erin Foster (Actor & Producer); Jerry O’Connell (Actor); Scooter Braun (Entertainment Executive); Emmy Rossum (Actor); Jeremy Piven (Actor); Gregg Sulkin (Actor); Skylar Astin (Actor); Joshua Malina (Actor); Julie Greenwald (Former Chairperson & CEO, Atlantic Records Group); Jody Gerson (Chairperson and CEO, Universal Music Publishing Group); Sharon Osbourne (Manager, TV Personality); Harvey Mason jr. “We have been shocked and disappointed to see some members of the entertainment community calling for Israel to be banished from the Contest for responding to the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust,” the letter reads.

On Eurovision’s impact, the letter states, “we believe that unifying events such as singing competitions are crucial to help bridge our cultural divides and unite people of all backgrounds through their shared love of music.”

CCFP’s Chairman, David Renzer, and Executive Director, Ari Ingel said:

“Across the entertainment industry, we are witnessing an alarming rise in shameful efforts to ostracize Israelis and those who support Israel, actions that do nothing to advance peace or understanding. These misguided boycott campaigns serve only to deepen divisions and fuel hostility. We stand firmly with industry leaders in rejecting this discrimination in all its forms. Eurovision and other global cultural events should be spaces of unity, creativity, and shared celebration, and not arenas for exclusionary politics. This open letter sends a powerful and unequivocal message: a broad coalition within the entertainment community proudly supports the Eurovision Song Contest and every one of this year’s remarkable participants, including Israel.”

FULL OPEN LETTER

We, the undersigned members of the entertainment industry, are writing to express our support for Israel’s continued inclusion in the Eurovision Song Contest.

We have been shocked and disappointed to see some members of the entertainment community calling for Israel to be banished from the Contest for responding to the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.

October 7th was a day in which a music festival meant to celebrate life was attacked by Hamas and saw 364 innocent civilians killed, hundreds maimed and brutalized, over 40 festivalgoers taken hostage, and many raped.

Israel is fighting a war against a European Union-designated terrorist group that once again broke a ceasefire that day, and then went on to slaughter over 1,200 people. This current round of fighting is not a war that Israel wanted or started. To punish Israel would be an inversion of justice.

Israel also has a long and storied history in Eurovision. This includes winning the Contest in 1978, 1979, 1998, and 2018 and having a diverse group of contestants representing the country, including PalestiniansEthiopians, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Israel then hosted the Contest in 1979, 1999, and 2019. In fact, Eurovision fans voted “Dare to Dream,” the 64th Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, the best Eurovision production of the decade.

Furthermore, we believe that unifying events such as singing competitions are crucial to help bridge our cultural divides and unite people of all backgrounds through their shared love of music.

The annual Eurovision Song Contest embodies this unifying spirit. Every year, millions of people across Europe and around the world join in a massive display of cultural exchange and celebration of music.

Those who are calling for Israel’s exclusion are subverting the spirit of the Contest and turning it from a celebration of unity into a tool of politics.

We support your decision to reject the calls to expel Israel from the Contest and are looking forward to a successful and exciting Eurovision.

Statement From Creative community for Peace in Response to Festival Republic (Melvin Benn) and the Wireless Festival Booking of Ye

Booking Ye to headline all three nights of Wireless Festival is more than a programming decision. It is a statement. And Festival Republic needs to own what it is choosing to platform.

Ye’s record of antisemitism, hate, and bigotry is clear, well-documented, and impossible to dismiss as a misunderstanding. This conduct spans multiple platforms, albums, interviews, and business ventures. It is a pattern, not an episode.

He has posted dozens of horrific antisemitic statements. He has publicly praised Adolf Hitler and declared himself a Nazi. In 2025, he sold swastika merchandise tied to a Super Bowl advertisement viewed by tens of millions and released a song titled “Heil Hitler” — subsequently banned from every major streaming platform.

The consequences have been real. The Anti-Defamation League documented that numerous incidents — including violent attacks — were directly tied to Ye’s antisemitic statements.

Words from a platform this large do not stay on stage.

Ye has once again issued an apology conveniently timed ahead of a new album release. But every apology has arrived in written form — a WSJ full-page ad, a curated email Q&A — and none has been spoken aloud, raising legitimate questions about authorship and sincerity.

This follows a well-established pattern of apology, retraction, and escalation.

It is not unreasonable to judge this moment by the totality of his conduct rather than the language of a letter constructed with the help of his new team.

Ye has attributed years of antisemitism to a four-month manic episode. That framing does not hold. His admiration for Hitler predates any cited period of personal collapse — expressed when he was at the peak of his commercial power.

Accepting this narrative also stigmatizes millions living with bipolar disorder who do not espouse hate, while letting ideology masquerade as illness. This is not a mental health story. It is an ideological one.

Meaningful change would require sustained engagement with credible organizations combating antisemitism and extremism — not as a PR exercise, but through genuine listening and reparative action. Performative outreach does not constitute accountability.

At Creative Community for Peace, we believe in redemption. But redemption requires sustained accountability, not premature rehabilitation driven by commercial opportunity.

Four years ago, Ari Emanuel and Jeremy Zimmer stated unambiguously that no one — and no company — should be in business with Ye. The entertainment industry appears to have quietly forgotten those words. We haven’t.

We stand firmly with Pepsi, PayPal, AB InBev, Diageo, Rockstar Energy, and others who withdrew their sponsorship from Wireless Festival, and it should not have taken the pulling of his UK visa to hold him accountable for his conduct.

Silence from those with platforms is not neutrality. It is a choice.

1,200+ Entertainment Leaders Release Open Letter Rejecting the Boycott of the Israeli Film Industry

Entertainment leaders from around the globe including Liev Schreiber, Mayim BialikGene SimmonsDebra MessingSharon OsbourneGreg BerlantiJerry O’Connell, Howie MandelJennifer Jason LeighLisa Edelstein, Erin Foster, Anthony Edwards, Rebecca De Mornay, Sherry Lansing, Shari Redstone, Haim Saban amongst many others, call out cultural boycott efforts

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25, 2025 — More than 1,200 entertainment leaders signed an open letter released by the non-profit entertainment industry organizations Creative Community For Peace (CCFP) and The Brigade, rebuking the efforts of their colleagues to silence fellow entertainers and filmmakers.

The letter comes in response to the call to boycott all Israeli film and television companies, productions, festivals, and institutions – a de facto attempt to silence Jewish stories and ostracize Israeli filmmakers.

Its release comes on the heels of Paramount Studios publicly declaring its opposition to the boycott pledge, stating “we need more engagement, not less” and amid multiple calls to boycott Israeli cultural institutions.

This new open letter, signed by over 1,200 entertainment leaders, demonstrates an entertainment industry-wide opposition to chastising fellow artists and creatives.

Chairman and CEO of Saban Entertainment, Haim Saban, said: “Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed how storytelling can be an incredible tool to build understanding around our shared humanity. Excluding Israeli filmmakers because of their identity betrays that mission and undermines efforts for peace. True progress comes when we listen to one another, Israelis and Palestinians alike, and allow art to open doors that politics too often close.”

The boycott attempt coincides with an explosion of antisemitism and censorship of Israeli culture and artists around the world.

Just last month, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the Israeli documentary, The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue, was disinvited due to boycott pressure. After public outcry, the film was re-instated and went on to win the People’s Choice Award– demonstrating that art transcends political boundaries.

Actress Debra Messing said: “When artists boycott fellow artists based solely on their country of origin, it is blatant discrimination and a betrayal of our role as storytellers. History shows us that boycotts against Jews have long been a tool of authoritarian regimes—by joining this effort, these artists are knowingly or unknowingly aligning themselves with a dark legacy of antisemitism.”

Actress Mayim Bialik said: “Artists and creatives have a unique opportunity and responsibility to remind the world of our shared humanity. Boycotting filmmakers, studios, production companies and individuals simply because they are Israeli fuels division and contributes to a disturbing culture of marginalization. Additionally, this boycott pledge does nothing to end the war in Gaza, bring the hostages home, or help curb the alarming rise of antisemitism globally.”

The open letter also comes on the heels of the Israeli film, “The Sea,” winning the Best Feature award at the Ophir Awards (the Israeli Oscar’s), a film about a Palestinian boy on his way to visit the sea in Tel Aviv for the first time in his life. This story of Palestinian life was produced with support from the Israel Film Fund, which was specifically singled out for boycott.

Actress Rebecca De Mornay said: “Film institutions engage with countries all over the world, including those with serious controversies, yet Israel alone is singled out and condemned—for defending itself in a war it didn’t start, for trying to free hostages still being held, and for confronting an enemy still intent on its destruction. Boycotting Israeli film institutions isn’t a stand for justice, it’s a thinly veiled double-standard for Jews, and a hypocritical, unjust punishment of Israeli artists and films.”

CCFP Executive Director Ari Ingel stated, “while the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement presents itself as a social justice movement to those in the west, it is actually a political movement that seeks the defamation, delegitimization, and eventual elimination of the State of Israel.  The recent boycott pledge also contains blatant statements of misinformation, such as claiming that ICJ ruled that there was a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza, when they did no such thing.”

Ingel added, “the truth is that the film and television industry in Israel is a vibrant hub of collaboration between Jewish and Palestinian artists and filmmakers, who work closely together every single day to tell complex stories that entertain and inform both communities and the world — from Award winning series such as Our Boys, to the Ophir Best Picture winning The Sea, and to powerful documentaries such as Dead Sea Guardians. Silencing the voices of storytellers does nothing to advance peace. The very artists and filmmakers who work across divides, grapple with painful truths, and foster dialogue should be supported. The path to peace will not be paved by boycotts, censorship, or exclusion, but by supporting the courageous individuals who refuse to give up on coexistence. Because in the end, peace will be written not by those who divide, but by those who dare to create together.”

The letter states: “We know the power of film. We know the power of story. That is why we cannot stay silent when a story is turned into a weapon, when lies are dressed up as justice, and when artists are misled into amplifying antisemitic propaganda.”

A representative for the Brigade stated, “As entertainment professionals and members of the creative community, it is our responsibility to preserve artistic freedom and access regardless of political leanings or origins. The ability to collaborate, to exchange ideas and highlight artists is the backbone of our industry. When people call for blacklists, it hurts the very foundation that has fought over-zealous government actions and the squashing of human rights. We adamantly oppose the current virulent and ill-informed boycott movement fomenting in our community. The Israeli artistic community and businesses provide opportunities to elevate Jewish and Palestinian stories and voices. We are obligated to preserve this thriving community for artists and audiences around the world.”

The letter concludes: “We call on all our colleagues in the entertainment industry to reject this discriminatory and antisemitic boycott call that only adds yet another roadblock on the path to peace.”

FULL OPEN LETTER

To our fellow artists and the global film community,

We know the power of film. We know the power of story. That is why we cannot stay silent when a story is turned into a weapon, when lies are dressed up as justice, and when artists are misled into amplifying antisemitic propaganda.

The pledge circulated under the banner of “Film Workers for Palestine” is not an act of conscience. It is a document of misinformation that advocates for arbitrary censorship and the erasure of art.

To censor the very voices trying to find common ground and express their humanity, is wrong, ineffective, and a form of collective punishment.

Israel’s film industry includes groundbreaking, celebratory, and critical projects about Palestinians and Jews, which many of you have lauded and celebrated. Israel’s film community is restless, argumentative, and independent, where directors challenge ministers and many of the very festivals you target, consistently program dissent.

Israel’s entertainment industry is a vibrant hub of collaboration between Jewish and Palestinian artists and creatives, who work together every single day to tell complex stories that entertain and inform both communities and the world. Israeli film institutions are not government entities. They are often the loudest critics of government policy.

The pledge uses nebulous terms like ‘implicating’ and ‘complicity.’ Who will decide which Israeli filmmakers and film institutions are ‘complicit’? A McCarthyist committee with blacklists? Or is ‘complicity’ just a pretext to boycott all Israelis and Zionists — 95% of the world’s Jewish population — no matter what they create or believe?

History warns us. Censorship has been used to silence filmmakers before: Nazi Germany’s propaganda machine, Soviet censorship, and even Hollywood’s own blacklists. Every time it was dressed up as virtue. And every time it was oppression. Every time, its targets expanded.

We know that many of you have good intentions and believe you are standing for peace. But your names are being weaponized and tied to lies and discrimination. This pledge erases dissenting Israeli voices, legitimizes falsehoods, and shields Hamas from blame.

If you want peace, call for the immediate release of the remaining hostages. Support filmmakers who create dialogue across communities. Stand against Hamas.

Let art speak the whole truth.

We call on all our colleagues in the entertainment industry to reject this discriminatory and antisemitic boycott call that only adds another roadblock on the path to peace.

CCFP Literary Alliance Condemns PEN America

Based largely on information supplied by Hamas, Pen America’s distorted report is filled with hateful lies and glaring omissions that are simply designed to demonize Israel.

By downplaying the horrors of October 7th and largely dismissing Hamas’ own actions that led to the current situation in Gaza, Pen America seeks to further silence Israeli and Jewish voices in literature and culture.

In doing so, the organization has lost sight of its mission and gravely damaged its own credibility. Art and literature are meant to build bridges and foster dialogue, not to be twisted into tools of division and hate.

1000+ Entertainment Leaders Release Open Letter Criticizing TIFF’s Handling of Film

Entertainment leaders from around the globe including Amy Schumer, Debra Messing, Mayim Bialik, Jerry O’Connell, Howie Mandel, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sherry Lansing, Haim Saban, Rebecca De Mornay, Rick Rosen, Gary Barber, Ben Silverman amongst many others, call on accountability from TIFF

LOS ANGELES, August 15, 2025 — More than 1000 entertainment leaders signed an open letter released by the non-profit entertainment industry organization Creative Community For Peace (CCFP) critiquing the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)’s handling of the film, The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue.

The letter comes in response to TIFF “disinviting” the film and then following public backlash, offering to “work with the filmmakers” to meet screening requirements. It’s clear that this was never about legal rights to footage, but rather appeasing anti-Israel and antisemitic activists’ intent to silence Jewish voices.

TIFF’s attempt to disinvite the documentary is part of a growing trend of silencing Jewish and Israeli voices under the excuse of “security concerns.” Rather than standing steadfast against violent intimidation and protecting filmmakers, TIFF gave cover to those who make threats.

TIFF’s attempt to disinvite the film coincides with an explosion of antisemitism in Canada. In 2024, despite making up 1% of the population, Jewish people were the group most targeted by hate crimes in Canada. The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue is not a political film. If focuses on a heroic story of Jewish survival. Based on their reporting around TIFF’s decision to include the film in the festival, it appears the story of Jewish survival is deemed controversial to many within TIFF.

Co-Founders of MRC, Modi Wizyck and Asif Satchu, said: “TIFF has championed AMERICAN FICTION, FAIR PLAY, KNIVES OUT and THE BLACKENING, some of MRC’s most provocative and complex films. We are glad that TIFF has reconsidered to ensure that the festival continues to be a haven for art and artists that embody diverse perspectives – especially on contentious topics.”

The letter highlights previous communications given by TIFF leadership that they’d stand firm in the face of political pressures, stating: “Last year, Creative Community for Peace and other entertainment industry leaders urged TIFF leadership to provide a platform for Israeli and Israeli-themed projects. TIFF leadership “assured” us they would do so “even in difficult times like this.” That assurance was apparently a lie.”

CCFP Executive Director Ari Ingel said, This incident is not an anomaly—it is part of a disturbing pattern that has emerged since October 7th, in which Israeli and Jewish creatives in film, television, music, sports, and literature are confronted with barriers no other community is made to face. The deliberate effort to marginalize and silence Jewish voices in the arts worldwide is intolerable, and it cannot be allowed to persist.”

The letter states: “While the film has been reinstated after a significant public backlash, the festival still has not offered a sincere apology or explanation for the harm it created for the Jewish community.”

A spokesperson from The Brigade said, “While TIFF’s choice to initially allow hate to prevail and undermined its own stated mission “to present transformative film experiences that enlighten, enrich understanding, and foster empathy and foster an environment of constructive and respectful dialogue” was egregious, It was also encouraging to see such a diverse set of voices come together to ensure that the film gets a worthy premiere. The Brigade will continue to work in collaboration with many others that support filmmakers who are facing these challenges, to ensure that other festivals practice real inclusion and that these actions are not normalized.”

The letter concludes: “We call on the Board of Directors to question the leadership of TIFF, to platform Israeli voices moving forward, and to choose dialogue over exclusion and peace over prejudice.”

Signatories Include:

FULL OPEN LETTER

We, the undersigned members of the entertainment industry, are deeply concerned about the Toronto International Film Festival’s (TIFF) initial decision to disinvite the documentary The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue, and its subsequent communications. This is the only documentary scheduled for this year’s program that puts forward Israel’s narrative.

This follows the 2024 festival, which likewise didn’t platform a single Israeli documentary that didn’t disparage the country. In contrast, TIFF 2024 featured three anti-Israel documentaries, with four more slated for 2025.

Last year, Creative Community for Peace and other entertainment industry leaders urged TIFF leadership to provide a platform for Israeli and Israeli-themed projects. TIFF leadership “assured” us they would do so “even in difficult times like this.” That assurance was apparently a lie.

Not only did TIFF omit The Road Between Us from the initial slate announcement, but TIFF pressured its filmmakers to change the film’s title—only to then cancel its participation.

While the film has been reinstated after a significant public backlash, the festival has not offered a sincere apology or explanation for the harm it created for the Jewish community.

Furthermore, the initial claim that the project couldn’t be screened because the filmmakers didn’t have the rights to footage Hamas – a Canadian designated terrorist group, broadcast to the world on October 7, 2023, when they massacred, raped, brutalized, and kidnaped thousands of innocent people from toddlers to Holocaust survivors — strains credibility.

As did the claim that the cancellation was for security reasons—when anti-Israel productions face no such barrier and instead of ensuring a safe environment, TIFF caved to these violent demands that only increased a sense that the Jews of Canada don’t count.

This incident was clearly a surrender to an antisemitic campaign determined to silence Jewish and Israeli voices, at a time when antisemitism in Canada is surging to historic levels. TIFF’s decisions this past week have only deepened and legitimized that hostility.

Documentaries and Film Festivals have the power to affect lives and effect positive change in the world. They can bridge cultural divides and bring people together through a shared love of the arts.

We call on the Board of Directors to question the leadership of TIFF, to platform Israeli voices moving forward, and to choose dialogue over exclusion and peace over prejudice.

CCFP Statement on Toronto Film Festival (TIFF)

Our Statement

The Toronto International Film Festival’s decision to pull The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue from this year’s festival is deeply disturbing.

They are choosing to censor a Jewish story of survival and attempting to erase the experiences of survivors of the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

This decision is part of a growing trend of silencing Jewish and Israeli voices under the excuse of “security concerns.”

Rather than standing up to violent intimidation and protecting filmmakers, TIFF is rewarding those who threaten their lives.

TIFF’s claim that the issue is “clearance” for Hamas-filmed footage is absurd. Does anyone believe Hamas would authorize use of evidence of its own war crimes? This is a pretext to bow to threats, protecting those who make them rather than those targeted by them.

By silencing this film, TIFF abandons artistic freedom and sends the chilling message that some victims’ stories matter more than others.

We call on TIFF to reverse its decision and stand for the principles it claims to uphold: artistic freedom, courage, and the right for every story to be told.

CCFP Statement on Current Situation – June 2025

Creative Community for Peace (CCFP) stands firmly with Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens against existential threats.

Iran is not only a threat to Israel—it is the single most destabilizing force in the region and a global sponsor of terror. Through its support for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and its tyrannical oppression of its own people, the Iranian government has fueled war, extremism, and suffering across the Middle East. And a nuclear-armed Iran would present an existential threat not only to Israel, but to civilians in the entire region.

Israel, like any sovereign nation, has both the right and the duty to defend its citizens. The strikes on Iranian military assets are a defensive response aimed at degrading Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Throughout history, Iran has used moments like this to attack Jewish communities around the world. At this tenuous moment, we call on our colleagues in the entertainment community to stand with the Jewish community and use their platforms to encourage peace.

400+ Entertainment Leaders Release Open Letter Calling Out Lies and Deadly Consequences of Anti-Israel Incitement

Notable entertainment leaders from around the globe including Debra Messing, Julianna Margulies, Mayim Bialik, Sharon Osbourne, Jerry O’Connell, Patricia Heaton, Uzo Aduba, Sherry Lansing, Haim Saban, Rebecca De Mornay, Ynon Kreiz, Rick Rosen, Gary Barber, Ben Silverman, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Leo Pearlman, Diane Warren amongst many others, demand an end to amplification of anti-Israel propaganda.

LOS ANGELES, May 29, 2025 — More than 400 entertainment leaders signed an open letter released by the non-profit entertainment industry organization Creative Community For Peace (CCFP) calling for a rejection of extremist rhetoric and the spread of misinformation.

The letter comes in response to the deadly shooting of two young people outside a Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. and after the release of multiple open letters from the entertainment and literature communities filled with fallacious claims and incendiary accusations.

Actress Mayim Bialik said: “History repeats itself: peddling lies about Jews has deadly consequences. For the past two years, public figures and influencers with millions of followers have consistently promoted fallacious and menacing anti-Israel propaganda masquerading as advocacy. This stream of lies against the Jewish people and the Jewish ancestral homeland has now – unsurprisingly to anyone watching closely – turned deadly in the United States. This moment requires public figures to use their platforms responsibly. We implore these individuals to lend their voices to those of moral clarity, peace and tolerance, instead of division, distortion and delegitimization.”

Since October 7th, the rhetoric and actions from anti-Israel activists around the globe routinely embrace extremism and antisemitism.

Following the shooting in Washington, D.C., the suspect repeatedly yelled, “Free Palestine,” showcasing how the anti-Israel movement has been radicalized to violence.

Saban Capital Group Chairman and CEO Haim Saban said: “When public figures accuse Israel of genocide, call for intifada, or claim Jews are colonizers, they may not understand the history they’re invoking — but the people who act on those words often do. This open letter is a plea for truth, for accountability, and for responsibility — especially from those with powerful platforms.”

The letter highlights how celebrities unknowingly platform dangerous propaganda, “Some well-meaning celebrities and public figures have been manipulated by this constant stream of misinformation, which they have also helped to amplify.”

CCFP Chairman/Co-Founder David Renzer and Executive Director Ari Ingel said, For the past 600 days, the anti-Israel movement has espoused an unrelenting stream of extremist rhetoric to demonize Israel and anyone who supports the country — it’s a toxic mix of distortion, bigotry and incitement. Given the power of social media, it’s incumbent on entertainers and public figures, with their ability to influence millions around the world, to use their platforms responsibly. Without a course correction, we will only see more hate, more violence, and more innocent people targeted simply for being Jewish.”

The statement is the first of its kind – a call from the entertainment community to unequivocally condemn the anti-Israel movement’s role in scapegoating and endangering Jews around the globe.

The letter states: “Hamas, Iran, and their allies and ideological sympathizers in the West have flooded the world with their hateful lies and antisemitic incitement since October 7 — lies designed to demonize Israel, the Jewish people, and their supporters.”

The letter concludes: “We call on all our colleagues to reject this extremist rhetoric and the spread of misinformation so that we can all work toward a future in which all Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in peace and dignity.”

FULL OPEN LETTER

We, the undersigned, are saying enough! Enough with the lies, and enough with the extremism.

Hamas, Iran, and their allies and ideological sympathizers in the West have flooded the world with their hateful lies and antisemitic incitement since October 7 — lies designed to demonize Israel, the Jewish people, and their supporters.

Some well-meaning celebrities and public figures have been manipulated by this constant stream of misinformation, which they have also helped to amplify.

On May 21, 2025 we saw that these lies can have deadly consequences when two young people were murdered outside a Jewish Museum in Washington D.C., as the perpetrator chanted “Free Palestine” — a chant that has now become a call to violence.

War is horrific — where far too many civilians suffer — which is why even though Hamas launched wars against Israel in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2021, the wars were short-lived.

But the gruesome Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023 changed everything.

Tragically, the suffering of civilians in Gaza is a strategy of Hamas, with one Hamas official stating that it is “a small price” to pay.

When Russia launched its war on Ukraine, it was the women and children that went underground in the metro system for safety while the men fought above ground.

In contrast, in Gaza —  after Hamas launched their genocidal war on Israel —  it was their fighters who went underground into the Gaza “metro,” while leaving women and children above ground to be used as their human shields.

This is a war Hamas started, and one that they can end by releasing the hostages, by laying down their arms, thereby freeing the Palestinians of Gaza from their tyrannical rule as well.

Yet, Hamas refuses to relent on their demand to have all of the land between the river and the sea cleansed of Jews, as they state in their own charter:

“The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.’ (Article 7).

The anti-Israel campaign shares this extremism.

The anti-Israel campaign refuses to hold Hamas accountable for the death and destruction caused by their illegal and repeated use of hospitals, mosques, schools, and UN facilities to launch attacks and shield their command centers.

The anti-Israel campaign refuses to acknowledge that the vast majority of “journalists” pumping out propaganda in Gaza are, in fact, members or supporters of the terrorist organizations themselves — even joining Hamas on October 7th to help broadcast their massacre inside Israel to the world.

The anti-Israel campaign spreads the antisemitic blood libel that the Jewish state – and all the Jews that support Israel – are bloodthirsty, intentionally targeting civilians, and committing “genocide.”

The anti-Israel campaign makes outrageous claims — such as Israel seeking to murder 14,000 babies in a 48-hour period — claims so egregious they should collapse under the weight of its own absurdity. Yet, these claims are amplified by the media, in addition to celebrities who share this disinformation to their millions of followers on social media.

The anti-Israel campaign claims that Jews are colonizers, when they are indigenous to the land of Israel and have the right to self-determination in their historical homeland as enshrined by the UN Charter.

We reject all these lies.

We reject the anti-Israel movement co-opting every social justice cause — outrageously claiming that to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community, or with anti-racist, anti-colonialist, anti-Islamophobic and anti-antisemitic movements, is to stand against Israel.

This is all done to paint Israel — and Jews around the world — as embodying the world’s ultimate evils. This is antisemitism.

We call on all our colleagues to reject this extremist rhetoric and the spread of misinformation so that we can all work toward a future in which all Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in peace and dignity.

200+ Entertainment and Business Leaders Demand BBC Accountability

Notable entertainment and business leaders from around the globe including Ozzy Osbourne, Debra Messing, Mayim Bialik, Sharon Osbourne, Leo Pearlman, Danny Cohen, Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, Raye Cosbert, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Neil Blair, Lyor Cohen, Brian Message amongst many others, call for the establishment of a full independent commission of inquiry into BBC

LONDON, March 6, 2025 — More than 200 leaders from the entertainment and business industries signed an open letter released by the non-profit entertainment industry organization Creative Community For Peace (CCFP) calling for a full investigation into the BBC’s bias against Israel.

The letter comes in response to the airing of the documentary, “Gaza: How to Survive in a Warzone.” The BBC acknowledged the serious journalistic failings in their presentation of the documentary. Not only did they platform Hamas propaganda, but they also used British tax dollars to pay the family of a Senior Hamas official.

Partner at The Blair Partnership Neil Blair said: “This is the latest in a long line of misreporting the Middle East and sugarcoating Hamas and it shatters public trust in the BBC. The BBC has its own rules to follow, as well as the law of the land, and its approach to both has been cavalier at best. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg and there needs to be a thorough, independent and transparent investigation process so the BBC can get its house in order and restore public confidence in its output.”

Since October 7th, the British Jewish community has consistently criticized the BBC’s coverage of Israel.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Jewish Leadership Council and the Community Security Trust, which monitors antisemitism and provides security for Jewish communities in Britain, accused the BBC as being “institutionally hostile to Israel.” The recent airing of “Gaza: How to Survive in a Warzone” substantiates the ongoing critiques of the British Jewish community.

Co-CEO of Fulwell Entertainment Leo Pearlman said: “As antisemitism explodes across the globe, the spread of misinformation is not just irresponsible, it’s dangerous. When major trusted media outlets like the BBC amplify biased narratives and allow propaganda to be broadcast as truth, it fuels anti-Israel sentiment, emboldens extremists, and puts Jewish communities around the world at risk. Accurate, responsible journalism is not just an ethical obligation; it’s a matter of safety.”

The letter highlights the gravity of the moment for BBC, “This is a true crisis for the broadcaster, which it is treating as a minor inconvenience whilst its highest paid presenter is allowed to openly deny there is an issue at all.”

CCFP Executive Director Ari Ingel said, “At a time when accuracy and responsible reporting are more critical than ever, media outlets must uphold the highest standards, not serve as a megaphone for terrorist organizations. This is even more important when the media outlet is a public service broadcaster. So far, BBC’s public response does not reflect the seriousness of their mistakes. They not only failed to inform the public but misled them with Hamas-sanctioned propaganda.”

The statement is the first of its kind – a call from the entertainment and business community to unequivocally condemn the BBC’s response to this crisis. And to call for the establishment of a full independent commission of inquiry into the processes that allowed this documentary to air and to other instances of bias the past 16+ months.

The letter states: “It is time for the BBC to acknowledge that it has a systemic problem of bias against Israel of which this is the tip of the iceberg.”

The letter concludes: “This episode makes mockery of the Reithian Principle – to inform, educate and entertain—widely understood and recognized as a distillation of the BBC’s mission and as such is embedded in the BBC Royal Charter. The board and senior management should be considering their positions.”

FULL OPEN LETTER

We, the undersigned are calling for a full commission of inquiry into the recent actions taken by the BBC. The BBC has now acknowledged the very serious journalistic failings in their presentation of the documentary, “Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone,” and the damage it has caused to the BBC’s reputation.

It is time for the BBC to acknowledge that it has a systemic problem of bias against Israel of which this is the tip of the iceberg. This is a true crisis for the broadcaster, which it is treating as a minor inconvenience whilst its highest paid presenter is allowed to openly deny there is an issue at all.

This episode makes mockery of the Reithian Principle – to inform, educate and entertain—widely understood and recognized as a distillation of the BBC’s mission and as such is embedded in the BBC Royal Charter. The board and senior management should be considering their positions.

The unwillingness of the BBC to address these problems transparently over the last 16+ months is what has led to the debacle.

Not only did the BBC platform a Hamas propaganda documentary — that featured the family of a Hamas leader and inaccurate translations — but it is has now admitted to actually using British taxpayer money to pay the family of a senior Hamas official.

The BBC must allow for a full independent commission of inquiry to investigate the processes that led to this documentary being produced, and the pervasive anti-Israel bias that has been allowed to pervade through the BBC system unobstructed.
